Catholic Life

"Pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is a high priority for leaders and is evident in the warm relationships that are prevalent throughout the school community. Pupils are encouraged to be respectful and think of others, particularly through the assembly programme." Ofsted, September 2016

Information and updates will be uploaded on this section from local parishes, across the Archdiocese and from Pope Francis.

Laudato Si'

Pope Francis has written a letter addressed to every person on this planet, asking us all to protect our common home, the earth. In his encyclical, Laudato Si', Pope Francis speaks openly about the devastating effects of climate change on people and the planet. He says that climate change is real, urgent and it must be tackled, asking us to remember that the climate is "a common good, belonging to all and meant for all" Watch this video from Cafod

Mega Youth Poll - Catholic Bishops' Conference of England & Wales

The Mega Youth Poll is open for those aged between 13 and 29 in England and Wales.  The Catholic Church wants to hear what you have to say about your life, faith and vocational discernment. (Vocational Discernment is the way by which a person discovers how to follow Jesus in their way of life and their work.)

Whatever your religious belief, feelings about the Catholic Church or circumstances we want to hear from you because you are important to us.  This Mega Youth Poll should take between 15 and 20 minutes to complete and is anonymous to give you the freedom to be frank and without fear of criticism.

This poll will be closed on Monday 30th June 2017 and the responses received will be used in a report that will be sent to the Vatican in preparation for a gathering* led by Pope Francis.  *The gathering is called a General Assembly on Youth, Faith and Vocational Discernment. The Bishops and others who are invited to go the General Assembly are a Synod.
