Reflection for Jess
01 April 2016
During the End of Term Assembly today, Y11 students came together to celebrate, remember and reminisce about Jess, commemorating her life and all that she achieved and contributed to the family of St Cuthbert's.
Candles were lit whilst a quiet hymn was sung, memories of Jess were shared and readings and prayers were read. Finally a touching video clip was shared encapsulating all that Jess represented.
Her two best friends read this touching poem in her memory:
"We thought of you with love today,
but that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday,
and days before that too.
We think of you in silence,
We often speak your name.
Now all we have is memories,
and your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake,
with which we'll never part.
God has you in his keeping,
we have you in our hearts".
Eternal rest grant unto Jessica O’Lord,
And let perpetual light shine upon her,
May she rest in peace,...
