We Saw The Signs.......at Spectrum Signs!

A small group of Year 11 Design and Technology students visited Spectrum Signs today as part of the GCSE NEA (non-exam assessment)

The students are designing products based on visually impaired people(mainly young children) and Spectrum Signs uses specialist equipment to make braille notices and sign systems.

Students were given a demonstration of the software and engraving machine by Steve Beesley. They were then given a tour of the factory and shown how large CNC routers can be used and vinyl printing is done in industry. The students also had a chance to see signs and displays used and made for Haydock Park and Aintree Racecourses.Spectrum Signs has been a valued supporter of the schools  D and T department over the last few years.Supplying the department with surplus materials that are too small for them to use which is better for the environment and cost saving for the school. We hope this partnership can continue to develop in the future
