Pay:                            NJC SCP 5 – 6 (£25,583-£25,989) pro rata per annum

Hours of Duty:        37 hours per week (Term Time Only plus 5 Additional days) (39 weeks)

Details:

We require an enthusiastic Food, Technology and Construction Technician to work under the direction of the Curriculum Leader to provide an efficient and comprehensive technical service to the Food, Technology and Construction department.

 

The successful candidate will be required:

  1. To prepare all resources/ equipment for all the Food, Construction and Design Technology department for teaching or for demonstration purposes for lessons as directed within time scales, in order to support learning activities.
  2. Operating specialist equipment to enhance learning within the department e.g. but not limited to, bandsaw, sewing machines, pillar drill, acrylic-strip heater, laser cutter, construction equipment such as cement mixer and any other machine that is in the Food, Technology and Construction Department
  3. To undertake where appropriate routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment, resources and materials to ensure a safe and orderly working environment (for the whole department). This may include cleaning ovens, cleaning and mopping floors, cleaning the construction area.
  4. To clean the equipment/resources/work area after use including spillages in accordance with COSHH. This relates to all areas of the department.
  5. Be aware of and comply with school policies relating to child protection, health & safety, confidentiality and data protection.
