St Helens College caters for students of all ages, studying at all levels. They provide courses and training to around 8,000 students across two main sites, the Town Centre Campus and the STEM Centre, Technology Campus. Their courses include BTEC Vocational programmes and Apprenticeships across a wide range of areas.

The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) is world renowned as a leading provider of university level creative and performing arts training with a portfolio of ambitious and popular courses.

The Growth Company Education & Skills, formerly The Skills Company, is one of the largest providers of work-based learning for young people and adults. They offer a huge range of apprenticeships, traineeships and courses for people throughout their working lives. As well as practically based training, they also offer a wide range of classroom-based courses designed to cater for all levels and all ages.
LLS offer course such as Sports Industry Course – Level 3 Extended BTEC Diploma in Sport (equivalent to three A levels) – requires five GCSEs and equivalent at grade 4-9 and Football Industry Course - Level 3 Extended BTEC Diploma in Sport, combined with full time training schedule and competitive fixtures with Chorley FC.
University Technical Colleges [UTCs] offer so much more than traditional schools. UTCs develop young professionals by focusing on one or two specialisms alongside a broader curriculum. It is a different and exciting way to learn. Alongside local universities and employers, UTCs deliver specialist technical qualifications that provide real life learning experience.

There are various levels of apprenticeships and career opportunities available with the Royal Navy and Marines, along with sponsorship opportunities for A-level scholarships and University bursaries.
For most courses Edge Hill University ask for a minimum of 5 GCSE's grades 4 and above, including Maths and English. They accept both A-Levels and BTEC's or a mixture of both and they ask for different grades or UCAS points depending on the course you are looking at.
Liverpool Hope University offers Undergraduate degrees, Undergraduate degrees with foundation year, Masters, PGCEs, PGDEs and Other Postgraduate courses.
Liverpool John Moores University offer over 199 undergraduate degree programmes with a large variety of degree programmes including Sport Science, Law, Nursing, Criminology, Psychology, Fashion, Engineering (many different types) and Computing programmes, Forensic Science and Media/Film programmes to name just a few.
