Our #FeelgoodFriday comes from Year 8 student Mollie R who organised her very own Art Competition for the whole school to take part in.
During this half-term, Mollie has been arranging the 'Nature and Animals Theme Art Competition' and different ways to promote it around the school to try and get as many people, from all year groups, to be involved.
Mollie said: "I love art and so wanted to do something creative and something that the whole school could easily get involved with."
"It started as a small idea and snowballed and I couldn't believe that so many people wanted to take part. There really is so many amazing pieces, it was so hard to choose the final three."
Mollie met with Mrs Twist this week to choose the top three pieces and then the whole school voted in their form groups to decide their winner.
The final three were Daisy B in Year 7, Rianna L in Year 9 and Conrad O in Year 11 (see below).
(L-R): Rianna L, Mollie R and Daisy B
Daisy in Year 7 won with their piece of work (above left) of a painting of their dog, Midge.
Prizes such as an Art hamper, £10 voucher and large bar of chocolate were donated by staff and by Mollie's Form Tutor, Miss Kenny.
Miss Kenny said: "I am so proud of Mollie for organising this with very little help from anyone and I'm sure the whole of the St Cuthbert's will share my pride.
"A huge well done to everyone that took part, the talent, time and effort you had taken to create your pieces was fantastic to see."
