As part of National Storytelling Week, in a range of workshops, our students are sharing and hearing the stories from people from all walks of life.
Today Year 9 took part in important workshops with Teen Advice Zone (TAZ), GamCare, Genderspace and St Helens Chamber.
Throughout the day, our young people experienced a wide range of topics such as Parenting with TAZ and Gambling Awareness with GamCare.
St Helens Chamber hosted a session with Steve Smith, Consultant for Business Doctors, providing our young people with the same advice and guidance of what he offers to local businesses. With a range of services, Steve provides bespoke advice to businesses, to help them reach goals and achieve their vision.
Steve explained: “I’m really keen to help businesses in our community – I hope that my experience and training can help local companies excel and I’m really excited to be able to offer this.
“Business Doctors provide a range of support for businesses of all shapes and sizes, and we provide a free business health check to get you started.”
We also had special visits from Christian Owens, from Genderspace, who led the inspiring sessions talking about his lived experience as a trans man. The thought-provoking workshops taught our students about gender insight, the transgender journey and how to be ‘your true authentic self’.
"The staff and students were inspirational and were amazing with their interaction, engagement and questions."
