The day started with 16 eager boys waiting in the main reception. Some of them a little blurry-eyed nevertheless, they were ready to go.
The boys embarked on a three-hour journey to Newcastle and were amazed at the fact that the coach had USB ports (very posh indeed).
One and a half hours soon passed and the coach pulled in at Tebay Services. "Sir, the most important question - where is the McDonalds?" Cultural Capital was very much in swing at this point. A quick stretch of the legs and we were back en route.
We soon arrived at Ponteland School but there seemed to be little nerves between the team. Not phased, the lads soon got to work and before we knew it, we were 16-0 to the good.
There was a clear difference in intent and aggression, Ponteland not being able to match our physical prowess and skill. Another half of rugby and it was 32-4.
Tries came from Nathan B, Keane E, Dylan K-D, Trent K-D, Brooklyn W, Kian W.
St Cuthbert's now advance to the semi-final of the National Cup against Brooksbank School (a leading rugby school in the UK).
A great day had by all in Newcastle.
