Year 7 have had an eventful first week. Everybody remembers their first day in 'big' school.
Everything is new; the teachers, some subjects never studied before, new classrooms, new friends and new routines. At St Cuthbert's we have an excellent transition programme, so most of our Year 7 students are pretty confident when they arrive and can hit the ground running.
Mrs Dawber, Head of Year 7 and Mr Heywood, Assistant Head of Year 7 said:
We are really proud of how well Year 7 have tackled their first week at St Cuthbert’s; they look so smart in their new uniform! Despite getting a little confused or lost, students have embraced St Cuthbert’s life with a smile and lots of enthusiasm leading many great ATLs (Attitude To Learning score) with many students achieving ATL 1! They’ve got lots to get their teeth stuck into with their new Knowledge Organisers that they should be using every night after school. Well done Year 7, keep up the excellent work!
Parents can view the knowledge organisers, available as a download on our Year 7 page. There will be a new knowledge organiser every half term - please click here to view the Year 7 page
Next week continues to be a busy week with the start of extra-curricular timetable (keep an eye out on our website for a copy of this) and the school photographer coming in on Wednesday to take Year 7 individual portraits.
We have had a great response from parents and carers downloading our School App - click here for a reminder on how you can access this facility if you're yet to do so.
We hope that they have thoroughly enjoyed their first week. Here are our new Year 7 Forms, in case you missed them.
