Food Ambassadors 2019-20

The Role of the Food Ambassadors - here's what's involved:

  • Have a passion and interest in food and food issues
  • Be responsible and show initiative and be available to help out in the food room during break and lunchtime to support food lessons
  • Be interested in working with Year 7s as a peer mentor in after school cookery clubs
  • Be involved in promoting Food Education around school (eg: Open Evening, KS4 Pathways Evening, Assemblies etc)

Every year a handful of students are selected to take part in this role. In return a reference will be given to these students and they can put this job role on applications to college or employment in the future. We hope some of you might like to think about this role for next year perhaps…

Each year the Food department choose a small number of students as Food Ambassadors. Their role is really important in supporting the delivery of high quality Food lessons to all students. They all work with enthusiasm and passion giving up their breaks and lunchtimes helping out in the Food room. They also run an after school cookery club for Year 7 in the summer term when they get to share their skills as mentors to younger students at St Cuthbert’s.

We would like to congratulate all of our newly appointed Food Ambassadors on being selected this academic year after showing a real passion and interest in food education and food issues in society. We wish them all the best in their new role and would like to thank them for all their hard work.

Our new Food Ambassadors are:
