Food/Technology Staff Mrs Proffitt and Miss Clarke along with Food Ambassador Recce F. represented St Cuthbert’s by attending the American Dining Event at Riverside College, Widnes. We were greeted like VIPs at the Scholars Restaurant in the college which is run by the catering students and staff. We were then taken to our table where we sampled American Food which included Chicken wings, BBQ ribs and corn on the cob followed by American style burgers and chips and then delicious Apple Pie or Cheesecake.
While we were dining we were able to watch the catering students preparing and cooking our food on a large TV screen. We were served by catering students all evening who really impressed us with their professionalism.
Afterwards Mr Parkinson (Head of Catering at Riverside College) took us on a behind-the-scenes tour of the catering kitchens which are state-of-the art with industry-graded equipment and facilities as you can see in the photos.
