Due to the current lockdown, we have had to look at alternative options to replace our traditional face-to-face Parents’ meetings.
Our solution is SchoolCloud which will allow us to run virtual meetings with parents. We would therefore like to invite the parents/carers of Year 7 and Year 11 to attend our Progress Meetings. This is an important event and will provide you with an opportunity to discuss your child’s progress with one of their teachers from the Year 7 Team via an online video call.
The software we will be using to run the evening is called SchoolCloud which allows you to choose your own appointment time. At the time of the event you will then access your appointment by video either from your mobile phone, laptop or desktop computer.
We have tested the system and all went well in trials, however, like all new ventures there may be teething problems, so please bear with us if any crop up. Our aim is to make this experience as smooth as possible for you.
You will be required to register to use the software by entering your own and your child’s details. Please note, you should enter your child’s legal first name and surname, not preferred name.
The window for booking appointments starts at 9am on Tuesday 5 January and ends at 9am on Monday 11 January.
At the time of your appointment you will be required to log into the software in the same way to access your video appointments.
Appointments will last for a maximum of 5 minutes and both parents and teachers will be able to see a countdown clock on their screen indicating how much appointment time is remaining.
If you are unable to attend the Virtual Progress Meeting due to technical issues please do let us know and we will endeavour to inform you of your child’s progress over the phone.
Year 11 Progress Meetings will take place on Tuesday 12th January.
Year 7 Progress Meetings will take place on Thursday 14th January.
There is also an opportunity for a Year 11 SEN Progress Meeting on Tuesday 19th January.
This is in addition to the Year 11 Progress Meetings on 12th January and will be an SEN appointment with Mrs Barrett, Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, to discuss any points or concerns in relation to the identified need your child has and the provisions in place to support this. Appointments will be available to book online between Wednesday 13th January 2021 and until Monday 18th January 2021. Please refer to the same parent guidelines issued for accessing the SchoolCloud and also joining the video appointment.
