Primary Partnerships

At St Cuthbert’s we pride ourselves on the relationships we have developed with our Associated Parishes and Primary Schools, maintaining successful links with them for many years.

Throughout the school year we ensure that our staff take the opportunity to work directly with primary students in a primary setting, and also at St Cuthbert’s to give students an idea of what to expect when they make the move to secondary school.

As well as this we have an established Transition programme which ensures that all Year 6 students choosing to come to St Cuthbert’s are looked after in making the transition from primary to secondary. This includes, meetings with Year 6 and other primary staff and students attending Transition Days at St Cuthbert’s to meet staff and of course to make new friends ready for September.

In addition we work with other Primary Schools on specific projects to support Key Stage 2 to 3 transition.
