Our special visitors

Yesterday, we had the absolute pleasure in meeting John and Winnie Gordon.

John attended St Cuthbert’s on the very first day it opened in September 1957. John, now 80 years old, visited with his lovely wife, to speak to some staff and students about his school experience and to very kindly donate two amazing books to the History and Geography departments. John’s humorous account of his school life and his recollection of staff and students from some time ago, had us all fascinated.

He also shared with us his school reference which he is rightly proud of and some achievement badges, talking about his sporting achievements as well as academic success.

John and Winnie send their very best wishes to all at St Cuthbert’s today and we hope to see them again very soon.
