He is joining Saint Helens RLFC on their Scholarship programme. Oscar has been a keen rugby player since joining Thatto Heath Rugby Club ‘Tots’ team at the age of four and has played for Thatto Heath Crusaders since then. His potential was spotted by Saints Scouts and he was one of only 200 young players selected nationally.
What an achievement to be one of only twenty to make it through the process and be awarded a Scholarship. Oscar has recently done his first training session at the Club and said that the training is ‘at another level’. Oscar said “This is something I’ve always wanted, so I’m really happy”.
Oscar’s parent’s are of course extremely proud; mum said “we’re unbelievably proud of Oscar and hope he enjoys the journey”. Oscar really is living out our St Cuthbert’s core values of Commitment, Courage and Community.
